Last year in February my Dad (Paul Federle)
passed away at 85. About 7 years or so ago there was a DeLorean auto show at the Museum Center. We did not realize that was taking place however Dad decided to go with me. When we got there and saw the autos he seemed fascinated and looked around for a while. He always liked cars.
He told me that was only the third time he had been to Cincinnati Union Terminal. The first was in 1942 when he went for training in the U.S Navy. He served in the South Pacific. The second was when he returned home from the war.
The Museum Center was giving Terminal Tours that day and we took one iof them. We both found that very interesting and I would like to do that again but I dont get there very often.
That day was really worth the trip to me just because Dad seemed to have a good time. I miss Dad and every day it seems there is a question that arises that I think "I should have asked Dad". Cant do that now, but I cherrish the memories. Mom (Olla Federle) just passed at 83 in April.
I have been a member of the Cincinnati Railroad Club for several years, only made it to Tower A one time though. I have also been a member of the Museum Center for the past 3 or 4 years.
I am glad I had this opportunity to tell of Dads experiences even though they were not numerous.
